About us

The Bancroft is a welcoming modern care home located in the heart of Long Sutton. The building itself is the home owners' former family home and retains that feel and atmosphere, although it has been extensively refurbished and extended to a high standard.  We are well known and respected within the local community and make sure that residents remain part of the community when they join us. We have decades of experience running a care home and have a friendly, dedicated team around us who offer a standard of care that is specifically tailored to meet each resident's individual needs.

Our location

The Bancroft is located at 50 Market Street in the beautiful market town of Long Sutton and has very strong links with the surrounding community.  Our care home is a former family home that provides a warm, family atmosphere that residents truly appreciate. The town itself is perfect for strolling through to visit the shops or the weekly market, and produce auction, while you enjoy the weather, the town's award winning floral displays and the town's historic wooden spire church. Potential residents and their families are invited to come see the town and the home for themselves, they are always welcome.

Our staff

Debra is a registered manager with 38 years of experience and is highly qualified to head up the team of carers.  Sadly after loosing her husband Rex in 2020 his presence has remained in all that she does at the Bancroft.  Also, Deputy Manager Emma is an excellent asset to the home with her knowledge and experience that brings so much warmth and attention to all the people in our care. Our staff are fully trained and experienced, and the team share common values such as compassion, friendliness, professionalism and discretion. The staff specialise in working with those with dementia and always take into account the needs of the individuals in their care, as well as that of their families, who are encouraged to come and see our facilities for themselves. Safety is of paramount importance and staff undergo constant training to keep their knowledge and skills up to date. 

Our facilities

Our home has 28 bedrooms, mostly single rooms with some shared rooms, and boasts two spacious communal rooms as well as a sun lounge and a dining room. A wide variety of entertainment and activities are on offer to our residents, including games, hobby sessions and regular outings. We take care to make sure there's plenty of relaxation and companionship for those who need it. We also offer a range of healthcare and wellness services, such as visits from a hairdresser, optician, chiropodist and regular visits from the GP and district nurses, as well as providing essentials like laundry services.
